Cabbage dill slaw

I’ll often throw together a quick cabbage salad to serve with a sandwich or jacket potato. When I have fresh dill on hand, this cabbage dill slaw is one of my favourites.

Cabbage and dill always play together nicely. And the mustard-honey dressing is a change from the sharp vinaigrettes and sweet, watery mayonnaises that spoil cabbage salad for some people.

Cabbage dill slaw
(serves 4 as a side salad)

  • 3 cups white cabbage, shredded
  • small bunch dill, roughly chopped
  • 2 Tb mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp honey
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 Tb sunflower seeds
  1. Combine the cabbage and dill in a serving bowl.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, mustard, honey, salt and pepper.
  3. Add the dressing the cabbage and toss until combined.
  4. Scatter with sunflower seeds and serve.

Dill is such a great herb. Never thought to put it in a Slaw! Great idea 😊

Love the simplicity and freshness of this take on slaw. Will try when the dill is up in the garden.
